A Success Story!

Dear Rodger:

I am the girl who sent you the letter that you labeled “Politics & Relationships” that described my BF putting an Obama sign in the front yard of the house we both live in even though he knows I am voting for McCain.

You said I should respond by placing a McCain sign right beside his Obama sign and being playful about it. I did what you said and then smiled real broad like when he saw it and turned to me, first with a scowl but then grinning.

Your idea worked!

In fact a lot of our neighbors have commented how great it is that we get along so well even though we are voting for different people. Thank you!

McCain Fan

Dear McCain Fan~

I’m really glad to hear my advice was helpful.

That was great advice you gave the girl and I am glad it turned out for her, but I can not believe she is voting for McCain. That is a huge mistake for this country.

Voting for McCain! No, no, no! This girl doesn't deserve good advice! Vote for Obama for the change we need!!!

I am voting for Barack and I am urging everyone I know to do the same, but the girl whose voting for John McCain still deserves good relationship advise.

John McCain is an honorable man who is to be admired for all he has done for this country. Whether he is elected President or not he will continue to be a man who deserves our admiration.

BTW, I am not voting for McCain. I am just saying that voting for him is no reason the girl does not deserve to be given good advice on her relationship.

I agree that McCain deserves our respect and admiration, but that is no reason to vote for him for President. Then again, I can even understand why someone would vote for him. It is voting for Sarah Palin that I cannot understand. As even Colin Powell a Republican said, she is not even close to beeing qualified to be President.

a lot of your readers will probably say i shouldn't be writing a comment at all because i'm a straight guy, but i've been reading your blog every day for a month because i learn a lot from what you say, so i think i deserve to be able to speak up. and what i want to say is: what the hell difference does it make if this chick asking for advice is a democrat or a republican? she asked you for advice and you gave her advice.

so all you people commenting on her politics: shut up!!!

this is another straight guy who's been reading this advice blog every day for a couple weeks. it gives me insight into issues among straight women as well as into this whole odd couple of a gay man with a straight woman. good stuff!

It's good to hear back from someone who benefited from the good advice going out from this blog. Success stories are reassuring that couples are making progress.
